California’s own Palo Alto Health Care System recently just opened the first fully 5G-enabled hospital for Veteran Affairs (VA). With the launch of this hospital, veterans will now have access to the most recent cutting edge technology and be able to receive the most quality and up-to-date treatment as possible. Some ways that 5G is implemented in this hospital enhanced pre-surgical planning, three-dimensional CT/MRI scans, improved diagnosis, autonomous vehicles, and extending service to areas with low-access to quality health care. The possibilities are truly endless. Dr. Thomas Osborne, the head Director of the VA National Center for Collaborative Healthcare Innovation described the launch of the hospital as “perhaps the most exciting and dramatic time in medical history”. This model will hopefully soon-to-be one that all health care institutions will adopt in the near future as the 5G rollout continues sweep and innovate the world.
